The aim of this textbook is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on business communication to the students enrolled in the Master’s Degree Program in International Economic Relations of the University of National and World Economy. The textbook is also suitable for distance learning. In Chapter One business communications are examined as a process of communication of its own principles and rules in compliance with business ethics practices. The managerial, information, social, and psychological aspects of business communications are the subject of analysis. The presented communications’ managerial aspects help students acquire practical skills in order to be successful when presenting and negotiating. Chapter Two is dedicated to the peculiarities of crosscultural communication, in particular those of international business negotiations. A summary of the main factors influencing the decisions of the negotiating parties, the typical strategies and tactics implemented in the course of negotiations is provided. The various approaches for resolving conflicts in an intercultural environment are systematized. Chapter Three addresses the connection between communications, leadership, and teamwork in an intercultural environment. The textbook also considers the role of the leader in managing groups as well as the advantages of group intelligence in the decision-making process.

 

The textbook includes cases illustrating the impact of national cultures, especially in business negotiations.
