(Textbook)

This textbook in International Business is designated for students enrolled in the International Economic Relations Master’s Degree Program who are neither economists nor have graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees in economics. It comprises ten thematic units dedicated to international business activity of different business entities in a strategic context. The textbook follows a logic that is typical for modern courses in international business held at leading universities. It provides basic knowledge which subsequently is being supplemented by the analyses in each chapter. Consecutively, while not repeating the contents of similar textbooks, the following is clarified:

  • The interdisciplinary nature of international business;
  • The global prospect of international business;
  • Features and key players in international business;
  • Theories underpinning international business;
  • Assessment of the opportunities offered by the global market;
  • Main ways of entering the international market and the most commonly used international business operations;
  • Global strategy and organization of the international business activity of a company.

Each thematic unit comprises an introduction stressing on issues to be studied, control questions, and cases. The cases cover topical issues related to practices in Bulgaria and abroad. The textbook deliberately does not include topics taught in other disciplines. In its nature the last chapter is a conclusion concerning the strategic aspects of a global company’s management.
