The idea for this monograph stems from the team’s longstanding professional experience in the interdisciplinary issues of international business. Believing that the strategic decisions made both by businesses and the country are successful provided there is essential and high-quality information on the issue, the authors orient themselves towards research of the public-private partnership’s economics as a whole as well as of the most often used modes of the performance of the latter. The rationality of one approach or another for the effective fulfillment of the country’s commitment to provide social goods of high quality to the citizens is consistently explained in the first chapters of the book. Doubtlessly, it is important to implement some of the theoretical views used for rationalizing international business, such as those for the deal-related expenses etc. The idea is to find the answer to the question which the cross point of the country’s and businesses’ interests is for them to embark on the complicated path to strategic association in the process of establishment and provision of services that are important for the quality of life of citizens and are in the field of transport, healthcare, education, and public utilities. The text also explains the risks that determine the efficiency of public-private partnerships.

The financial aspects of the issue at hand are also considered in the book. The project funding issues are comprehensively studied – from theoretical and definitive levels towards thorough description of the applicable financial mechanisms. The risk factors in the context of the designation of project funding are also presented. The idea to avoid laying the stress on the surface is the reason for the inclusion of the last group of issues – the role of the country in public-private partnership. Believing in the strategic significance of the issues at hand, the authors carry out a comprehensive study on good governance of PPP.
