On 26 March 2014 Dr. Han Min Yon, counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria, gave a public lecture to the International Economic Relations students at the University of National and World Economy.

In his lecture on Introduction to Political Economy: the South Korea Case Dr. Min Yon talked about the political economy and democracy, the liberalization of financial markets and its impact on the economy. He also commented on the rise of South Korea from one of the poorest countries in the 1950s to the 12th economic power in the world.

The meeting was organized on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Sc. (Econ.) Bistra Boeva​​, lecturer at the International Economic Relations and Business Department and with the support of Prof. Antoaneta Vassileva, dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Politics.
